New York Dramatic Voices is a program of the nonprofit organization, Anthony Laciura Foundation for the Arts, Inc.
Founded by Anthony Laciura in 2017, New York Dramatic Voices (NYDV) was created for singing artists about to embark on a career in the heavier vocal repertoire. This program is designed to provide opportunities for singers to study and perform the dramatic repertoire regardless of age. Accepted singers of the dramatic fach are given a platform to work on repertory suitable to their level of vocal capacity.
Surrounded by top industry professionals, NYDV artists are guided through their own creative exploration of the art form. Each artist receives individual instruction and is able to implement what he or she learned in the professional world.
MANY OF OUR SINGERS HAVE GONE ON TO MAKE THEIR COMPANY DEBUTS
IN LEADING ROLES THEY PERFORMED WITH NYDV FIRST.
New York Dramatic Voices Workshop Sessions are in midtown Manhattan. Singers are given scenes to work on of the dramatic repertoire that reflects their particular voices. During this time, singers will receive musical coaching, character study, body movement, masterclasses with renowned artists, and staging of their scenes by Anthony Laciura. Class sizes are limited in order to meet the special qualities these voices require. The workshop culminates with an open performance of the prepared scenes.
