Day 4- Even barbells need coffee

Bonsoir, mon cher!

We are now in day four of the program and the work ethic continues to be inspire me to work harder. We are done with our day of rehearsals and I am taking a break from score study at a Pret to write my blog today.  You may be asking yourself, “Kristen, why are you studying at a Pret a Manger?” Well, let me answer that for you!  Since I am staying in Queens and I did not get to last night (I was watching the revival of West Side Story!) and tonight I will be taking in even more live theatre (no, still not the Met) tonight, I have to be creative with my rehearsal time and space.

For a few days now you have been seeing various pictures pop up or different people and various tables and chairs in different configurations, so now seems like the perfect time to take a moment to tell you all what we are getting ready to perform for you!  On this concert, New York Dramatic Voices is planning to perform scenes from Rusalka, Carmen, Falstaff, Die Walküre, and Turandot!  I will make sure I get pictures of each scene of performers so you can have an idea of who you will be seeing when you join us at the concert!  Some are pictured above.

Looks like Lorraine's barbell needs more coffee

I would also like to take some time to talk about one of my very favorite things in the world. Coffee. I heard someone say once that for them it was like a warm hug in the morning and I am a firm believer in that!  Coffee reminds me that everything is going to be ok and that I have the power to do anything. I like it black, I like it with cream and sugar, I like a mocha, I like lattes, I like cappuccinos... I love it all!  New York City is filled with so many different places that serve coffee and each of the them is better than the next. In the last twenty four hours I had, what I consider, the best mocha of my life. I’m not going to tell you where, because I want you to explore, but go find the corner coffee shops and get yourself a warm hug!  Prost!

It is time to see Hadestown the Musical!  The amount of excitement I have I can barely be contained! Enjoy your evening my lovelies!  I hope you find a way to have music in your life each and every day!

Kristen

PS I just got out of Hadestown and all I can say is WOW!!! I laughed, I cried, I felt. Thank you Hadestown for allowing me to let go for a little while and go on a journey with you. Go see this show! Run , don't walk!
